Breast Augmentation in Medellin

Breast augmentation increases volume using either silicone or saline implants or, less commonly, transferred fat. It is often combined with a lift when skin laxity or nipple position needs addressing at the same time — a combination that changes both the complexity and the price meaningfully.

Typical 2026 range — not a quote
Medellin$3,000 – $6,000
United States$7,000 – $14,000
Time on the ground8–12 days
AnaesthesiaGeneral
Operating time1–2 hours

Figures are typical 2026 ranges compiled for orientation, not quotes. They reflect surgeon and facility fees only and exclude flights, lodging, post-operative garments, medications, and any revision work. United States figures are broad national ranges and vary widely by market. Only a licensed surgeon can quote your case.

Implants and the questions that matter

The decisions that shape your result are implant type, size, profile, and plane of placement. Ask which specific implant brand and model your surgeon proposes, whether it carries INVIMA registration for use in Colombia, and what warranty the manufacturer offers. Reputable implants come with documentation — you should leave with it.

Recovery, realistically

Most people are up and moving within a day and back to desk work inside a week. Chest and upper-body exercise is typically restricted for four to six weeks. Implants settle over three to six months, and the shape at week two is not the shape you keep.

Planning for the long term

Implants are not lifetime devices. Plan on the possibility of revision or exchange at some point, and think through what that means when your surgeon is in another country. Ask directly what the revision policy is and what it would cost.

Before you commit

  • Confirm ReTHUS registration. Colombia's national health-workforce registry is the authoritative record of who is licensed to practise. Check the surgeon's entry yourself rather than accepting a screenshot.
  • Confirm the specialty, not just the licence. A registered physician is not necessarily a trained plastic surgeon. Ask where and when they completed their specialty training.
  • Confirm where you will actually be operated on. Ask for the name of the facility. If a hospital is involved, its accreditation is verifiable at the hospital level — note that standalone clinics and day-surgery centres do not carry hospital-level international accreditation, and any claim otherwise is worth questioning.
  • Get the inclusions in writing. Anaesthesia, facility fee, garments, medications, follow-up visits, and any revision policy should all be explicit before you pay a deposit.
